Anime Expo — organized by the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA) — drew over 100,000 attendees across its four-day run from July 4–7. Cosplayers, panel discussions, and dealer hall activity all reflected the series' remarkable staying power nearly 30 years after its debut.
The series — first serialized in Nakayoshi in 1996 and consistently ranked among the top-rated manga on MyAnimeList — continues to attract new readers while holding a sacred place in the collections of longtime fans.
